Recent remarks made by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, running mate to Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia, represent a clear and dangerous attempt to sow discord within Kusaug. In a viral video, Napo falsely accuses H.E. John Dramani Mahama of plotting to divide the Kusasi and Mamprusi people, along with other tribes, should he return to office. These baseless claims are not only deceptive and irresponsible, but they also have the potential to inflame tensions and destabilize the peace we are striving to maintain in the area. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the resumption of its teacher recruitment process after successfully addressing the concerns related to the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE). In a letter dated October 31, 2024, the Director-General of GES, Dr. Eric Nkansah, informed all Regional Directors of Education that the updated master list now reflects only qualified candidates. As a result, the recruitment process will recommence on November 7, 2024 , and is set to conclude by November 9, 2024 . The GES has instructed recruits, particularly those from the College of Education, to report to their respective regional education offices during this period with the following documents: original appointment letters and valid identification . We have observed with dismay the recent clearance and posting of teachers and nurses. While we commend these initiatives, we cannot overlook the glaring omission of postings for Environmental Health Officers and Assistants, who play a crucial role in safeguarding the nation's public health.
