  14th May, 2026 Read More FUJAIRAH, UAE  – Regional maritime security concerns intensified on Thursday, May 14, 2026, following reports that a vessel was boarded and seized by unauthorized personnel near the coast of Fujairah. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) confirmed the incident, which occurred approximately 38 nautical miles northeast of the strategic bunkering hub. According to maritime security analysts, the vessel—identified by industry sources as the Honduras-flagged fishery research ship  Hui Chuan —was at anchor when it was boarded. Following the seizure, the vessel reportedly altered course toward Iranian territorial waters and ceased transmitting its Automated Identification System (AIS) data. Read more The Municipal chief executive for the Nkoranza South Municipal Hon Daniel Owuredu has  called on the people of the area to stay calm and count on the President promise of getting the police return to duty in the area. The police Service vacated post after the death of one Albert Donkor that also led to a bloody protest leading to the death of another one person. In may this year, protesters besieged the Nkoranza Police station and vandalized property and also discharged suspects who were in police custody. In line with this, the inspector general of police Akuffo Dampare visited the area to mediate peace between residents and the police.
