NEW YORK — Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has appeared before a United States federal court following his recent arrest and extradition, according to reports from international media outlets. Maduro was transported under heavy security to a federal courthouse in New York for an initial court appearance. The development marks a rare and significant moment in international criminal proceedings involving a sitting head of state. Read more The Municipal chief executive for the Nkoranza South Municipal Hon Daniel Owuredu has  called on the people of the area to stay calm and count on the President promise of getting the police return to duty in the area. The police Service vacated post after the death of one Albert Donkor that also led to a bloody protest leading to the death of another one person. In may this year, protesters besieged the Nkoranza Police station and vandalized property and also discharged suspects who were in police custody. In line with this, the inspector general of police Akuffo Dampare visited the area to mediate peace between residents and the police. In a somber announcement, the University Management confirmed the passing of Miss Joana Deladem Yabani, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences student.
