The Municipal chief executive for the Nkoranza South Municipal Hon Daniel Owuredu has  called on the people of the area to stay calm and count on the President promise of getting the police return to duty in the area. The police Service vacated post after the death of one Albert Donkor that also led to a bloody protest leading to the death of another one person.

In may this year, protesters besieged the Nkoranza Police station and vandalized property and also discharged suspects who were in police custody. In line with this, the inspector general of police Akuffo Dampare visited the area to mediate peace between residents and the police. Subsequently, police withdrew their services in the area and residents had to travel to Techiman and other places to make official complains.

The traditional leadership of the Bono area visited president Akuffo in late August 2022 at the flag staff house and a complain was laid to the President about the situation. The President then promised the traditional leaders that, police would return to the area. Some residents have however expressed anxiety over the delay in the return.
