Venezuelan President Appears in U.S. Court After Arrest on Drug Charge

NEW YORK — Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has appeared before a United States federal court following his recent arrest and extradition, according to reports from international media outlets. Maduro was transported under heavy security to a federal courthouse in New York for an initial court appearance. The development marks a rare and significant moment in international criminal proceedings involving a sitting head of state. Background to the Case U.S. prosecutors accuse Maduro of involvement in drug trafficking and related criminal conspiracies. The charges stem from indictments first announced several years ago, alleging that senior Venezuelan officials participated in large-scale cocaine trafficking operations targeting the United States and other international destinations. NDC YOUTH ACTIVIST CALLS FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF AZUMAH TEBON Esq AS DIRECTOR GENERAL OF GPHA



A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress  (NDC) Ahmed Safian Bawre has called on President John Mahama to consider Azumah Tebon esq as the new director general of the Ghana  Ports and Harbor Authority (GPHA)


Ahmed Bawre made the appeal during a an interview with Citi FM's Upper East Regional Correspondent Ibrahim Abode.

He asserted that, Tebon Azuma, contains a vast experience in that sector, and that will go a long way to help the president reset the sector to the admiration of Ghanaians.


He rubbished allegation that, Lawyer Azumah is a member of the NPP and challenged those faceless individual to come forth with evidence to back their claim.



He contended that, Azuma Tebon is not only a die heart party person and a financier of the national Democratic Congress but also a  philanthropist.


He added that, the appointment of Azumah Tebon will end corruption and underperformance in our ports. 

He reiterated that, Azumah's political impact runs within the greater Accra, Asanti and upper east. 


He added that, the appointment of Lawyer Azumah will be the appointment of three region, that is, Upper East, Asanti and Greater Accra Regions due to his political cosmopolitan attributes. 


Bawre Ahmed in throwing a strong defense for the  lawyer remarked that he never met him in a person but numerous positive feedbacks from people within the party especially the youth, point to the fact that, he is the right man for the job.


He wrapped the argument with the assertions that, the NDC youth is prepared to use any means friendly and legally to get him appointed.
