In a gesture of solidarity and support, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to traders who suffered significant losses in the recent devastating fire at the Adum market in Kumasi. This substantial contribution aims to assist the affected traders in rebuilding their businesses and recovering from the catastrophic incident.

The fire, which erupted on Friday, March 21st, 2025, swept through the bustling Adum market, destroying numerous shops and stalls and resulting in the loss of goods valued at millions of Ghana cedis. "I am deeply saddened by the extent of the damage caused by this fire," Dr. Bawumia stated during his visit. "These traders have lost their livelihoods, and it is our responsibility to support them in rebuilding their businesses. I hope that my contribution will provide some relief and inspire others to come forward and assist."
