This decision follows the President's determination that a prima facie case exists, necessitating further inquiry.     Article 146(6) of the Constitution mandates the formation of a committee to probe allegations against a Justice of a Superior Court when a preliminary examination reveals sufficient grounds for investigation. The committee, charged with a thorough and impartial examination of the petitions, comprises esteemed individuals from diverse sectors, ensuring a broad spectrum of expertise. President Mahama Announces Direct Payment of Nursing and Teacher Trainee Allowances by Controller and Accountant General's Department



In a move aimed at streamlining the disbursement of allowances to nursing and teacher trainees, President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the Controller and Accountant General’s Department will now be responsible for directly paying these allowances. This new payment system is designed to ensure that trainees receive their stipends consistently and in a timely manner.

The President's announcement signifies a significant change in the administration of trainee allowances, shifting the responsibility from previous arrangements to the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, the primary entity responsible for public sector salary payments. This change is intended to improve the efficiency and reliability of the allowance distribution process.

According to President Mahama, the primary objective of this new system is to synchronize the payment of trainee allowances with the monthly salary disbursements to public sector workers. This alignment will guarantee that nursing and teacher trainees receive their allowances at the same time as government employees receive their salaries, eliminating delays and inconsistencies that may have occurred under previous arrangements.

"This new system will bring greater consistency and predictability to the payment of trainee allowances," President Mahama stated. "By aligning these payments with the public sector salary schedule, we are ensuring that our hardworking trainees receive their due financial support without unnecessary delays."

The move is expected to alleviate the financial burdens faced by nursing and teacher trainees, who rely on these allowances to support their education and living expenses.
