Ghana Reports 10 New Mpox Cases, Total Reaches 19

 

Ghana's Mpox case count has risen to 19 after the Ghana Health Service confirmed 10 new infections. Five individuals are currently hospitalized.

The newly confirmed cases have been identified in the Northern, Western, and Greater Accra Regions. Despite the increase in numbers, health authorities are urging the public not to panic, stating there is "no cause for alarm."

Sources indicate that training on Mpox is actively underway for staff at teaching and regional hospitals in Koforidua, Eastern Region. Additionally, contact tracing efforts are ongoing to identify and monitor individuals who may have been exposed to the virus.
