KUMASI, Ashanti Region – A vibrant atmosphere filled with pride, gratitude, and hopeful anticipation enveloped South Suntreso M.A. Junior High School (formerly South Suntreso L/A JHS) recently, as the school celebrated two momentous milestones: the grand unveiling of its newly renovated infrastructure and the joyous graduation of its dedicated students.

The transformation of our beloved school, from "just bricks and mortar" to a truly inspiring environment for learning, marks a new chapter in the educational journey of South Suntreso. This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts of our esteemed benefactors and partners. Their collective vision and unwavering commitment to educational excellence have truly made a difference.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Metro Director of Education, Honorable Assemblyman for South Suntreso/North Patasi, GES/N.G.O, PTA Executives, the Headteachers, past students, SMC, the invitees, our community leaders, Ladies and Gentlemen, and all protocols duly observed. Their collaborative spirit has been instrumental in bringing this dream to fruition.

Among these crucial partners, the South Suntreso and North Patasi Association of USA stands out for their extraordinary commitment. Their unparalleled generosity, contributing close to GHS 100,000, was instrumental in a comprehensive overhaul of our school's infrastructure. This significant investment covered essential renovations including new roofing, painting, electrical wiring, the installation of new ceilings, and the provision of much-needed fans, dramatically transforming our learning spaces into a comfortable and conducive environment for our students. Their dedication to their roots and the future of our children is truly commendable.

GES Resumes Teacher Recruitment After Resolving GTLE Issues

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the resumption of its teacher recruitment process after successfully addressing the concerns related to the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE). In a letter dated October 31, 2024, the Director-General of GES, Dr. Eric Nkansah, informed all Regional Directors of Education that the updated master list now reflects only qualified candidates. As a result, the recruitment process will recommence on November 7, 2024 , and is set to conclude by November 9, 2024 . The GES has instructed recruits, particularly those from the College of Education, to report to their respective regional education offices during this period with the following documents: original appointment letters and valid identification .
