NEW YORK — Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has appeared before a United States federal court following his recent arrest and extradition, according to reports from international media outlets. Teen Suspect Identified in Fatal Hamilton Shooting of Ghanaian Woman



Hamilton Police have identified 17-year-old Mackale Lavoie as the suspect in the fatal daylight shooting of Ghanaian woman Berlinda Sarkodie, which occurred on Friday, July 11, 2025, in the area of King Street East and James Street North.


According to police, the incident happened around 5:25 p.m. when the suspect opened fire on a group of three individuals believed to be his intended targets. During the shooting, 26-year-old Berlinda Sarkodie, an innocent bystander, was fatally struck as the suspect continued firing at a second person.


Following investigations, authorities have issued a warrant for Lavoie’s arrest on the following charges: second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
