Asantehene Announces Passing of Asantehemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III

 


Kumasi, Ghana – In a solemn announcement that has sent shockwaves through the Asante Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has officially declared the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III. The news was delivered as part of a traditional customary address, marking a moment of profound sorrow for the Asante people.

The Asantehemaa, the Queen Mother of the Ashanti Kingdom, holds a position of immense cultural and historical significance. She is not only the mother of the Asantehene but also a powerful figure in her own right, serving as a key advisor and custodian of tradition. The passing of Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III leaves a deep void in the kingdom, and her legacy of grace and leadership will be remembered by many.

As per tradition, the Asantehene also announced the date for the one-week observation of the late Queen Mother. The event will take place on Thursday, August 21, at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace. This gathering will allow chiefs, dignitaries, and the public to pay their respects and mourn her passing in accordance with Asante customs.

The Manhyia Palace is expected to be a focal point of traditional rites and ceremonies over the coming weeks as the kingdom prepares to bid farewell to a revered and beloved leader. Further details on funeral arrangements are anticipated to be announced in the coming days.
