Read more   President  John Dramani Mahama  has unveiled plans to organise two major national conferences aimed at addressing key challenges in Ghana’s governance and education sectors. Speaking at the 92nd Jalsa Salana of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana in Winneba on Thursday, January 9, he outlined initiatives to strengthen the justice system and improve the education landscape. Mr Mahama revealed plans to establish a committee to prepare for a National Constitutional Review Validation Conference. The conference will seek to reignite discussions on the stalled constitutional review process, build consensus on proposed amendments, and promote judicial independence. “To this end, the new NDC administration is resolutely committed to strengthening our justice system. Four officers sacked at National Security Ministry over Caleb Kudah’s assault

Nsiah Obed May 21, 2021Read original Four officers have been sacked from the Ministry of National Security after an investigation established that their conduct during the arrest of a Citi FM report, Caleb Kudah , “was inappropriate and contravened the standard operating procedures” of the ministry. The Director of Operations at the National Security, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman, and three police officers have been fired from the ministry and been asked to report at their original detachments for further investigations. “The secondment of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman (Director of Operations) at the Ministry has been reversed. The officer is to report to the Chief of Defence for further investigations and appropriate action.” Three other police officers involved in the assault have also been withdrawn and instructed to report to the Ghana Police Service for investigation. JUST IN: Number Of MPs Who Tested Positive For Coronavirus Made Public -CHECK OUT

This came to light after some of them showed signs of the disease and the Speaker, Alban Bagbin made it compulsory for all MPs to take Covid-19 test, especially in view of the recent Covid-19 deaths. According to the report, the eight confirmed cases are split equally among both majority and minority sides but their names were not mentioned for fear of stigmatisation. The outcome of the test among the few members who have gone through the exercise prompted the Speaker to issue a ‘fatwa’ against those who are unwilling to take the Covid-19 test. Reports say less than a third of the membership of the House have so far taken the test.
