Caught Red-Handed: St. Louis SHS Security Nabs Students in Trunk Escape Attempt

Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana – A vigilant security team at St. Louis Senior High School (SHS) in Kumasi successfully thwarted a daring attempt by two students to break bounds, apprehending them as they tried to exit the school grounds hidden in the trunk of a private vehicle.

The incident unfolded during a routine security check on a vehicle that had reportedly entered the campus for a Bolt passenger pickup. According to school staff, security officers grew suspicious when the driver was observed returning from the pick-up point without any passenger.

Acting on their instincts, the security personnel decided to conduct a thorough search of the vehicle. Their suspicions were confirmed when they discovered two students concealed in the car's trunk, attempting to sneak off campus undetected.

The swift action of the St. Louis SHS security team highlights their commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring the safety of students within the school premises. The identities of the students and the driver, as well as any disciplinary actions to be taken, have not yet been released. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by educational institutions in enforcing regulations and the need for constant vigilance.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the resumption of its teacher recruitment process after successfully addressing the concerns related to the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE). In a letter dated October 31, 2024, the Director-General of GES, Dr. Eric Nkansah, informed all Regional Directors of Education that the updated master list now reflects only qualified candidates. As a result, the recruitment process will recommence on November 7, 2024 , and is set to conclude by November 9, 2024 .
